The 1957 Chevrolet was available in three official trim levels; the base model one-fifty, the mid-range two-ten, and the upscale Bel Air series. Many recall the two-door wagon Nomad that was produced as a Bel Air. A fourth designation was also available in limited quantities, the El Morocco, a custom hand-build mimicking the Cadillac of the era. Looking back from 1918-1954, Chevrolet only offered in-line six cylinder engines. The real watershed moment for Chevrolet was the proverbial chapter written by Ed Cole in 1955 titled V8. In 1955, Chevrolets designer Ed Cole introduced the 265 V8. By 1957, it had evolved into the powerful Turbo Fire 283. Now you could have an engine with one horsepower per cubic inch if you ordered it with solid lifters and fuel injection! Offered right now at Happy Days Dream Cars in Warrensburg, Missouri is this incredibily rare Chevy 210 2 Door Hardtop with 283 V8 and Fuel Injection. Recently released from the exclusive Butch Saunders Private Collection, this is a very special car to say the least. As predecessor of the factory lightweights that dominated racing in the early 1960s, this scarce 210 is very unusually optioned with the heater, radio, clock and cigar lighter deleted from factory. It also features a very rare electric vacuum pump and GM Hydro-Vac pressure to the brakes and wipers normally supplied by the carburetor. Documentation includes partial Owner History, photos of car off the frame being restored, receipts for engine and exhaust restoration dating back to 1998. Car odometer shows 1442 actual miles since restoration. Because the rarity and desirability of this vehicle (The 2 door Hardtop 210 model was only 1.48 percent of the total Chevrolet car production in 1957), this is the car for the very discriminating Tri-Five Collector!
